PROVIDER APPRECIATION
From 2022–2026, the Reno County Child Care Task Force invested in provider appreciation and recognition as part of its ARPA-funded work to strengthen Reno County’s child care workforce.
Provider feedback and local research consistently highlighted the need for greater recognition of child care professionals and the important role they play in supporting children, families, employers, and our community.
Through Provider of the Month recognition, Provider Perks, provider gatherings, training incentives, grants, and other initiatives, the Task Force worked to show appreciation while strengthening connections across Reno County’s child care community.
ARPA Funding Has Ended
The one-time ARPA funding that supported RCCTF provider appreciation initiatives has been fully expended. RCCTF-funded Provider Perks, gatherings, training incentives, grants, and other appreciation activities are not currently being offered.
WHY PROVIDER APPRECIATION MATTERS
INCREASED RETENTION
When child care workers feel appreciated through recognition programs, bonuses, or improved benefits, they are more likely to stay in their roles, reducing the need for constant recruitment and training.
IMPROVED MORALE
Acknowledging the efforts of child care providers through positive feedback, celebrations, or staff appreciation events can significantly lift their spirits and motivation.
ENHANCED QUALITY OF CARE
A stable and motivated workforce is better equipped to provide high-quality care to children, as they are more likely to be engaged and invested in their work.
RECRUITMENT ATTRACTION
Implementing appreciation initiatives can also make a child care center more attractive to potential new employees, helping to fill staffing gaps.
