CHILD CARE PROVIDERS
Child care providers are at the heart of Reno County’s child care system. Throughout the work of the Reno County Child Care Task Force, providers helped shape the strategies, investments, and programs designed to strengthen child care across our community.
With support from ARPA and other funding sources, the Task Force invested directly in providers through grants, training, appreciation initiatives, resources, and opportunities to connect and learn from one another.
While Task Force-funded programs have now concluded, their impact continues. Explore the initiatives below to learn more about the work completed and find resources that remain available to Reno County child care providers.
GRANTS & FUNDING
Grant funding was a significant part of the Task Force’s investment in strengthening and stabilizing child care in Reno County. Programs supported provider retention, infant care, immediate facility needs, quality improvements, expansion, and new child care capacity.
ARPA-funded grant programs have now concluded, but their impact can be seen across home-based and center-based care throughout Reno County.
TRAINING & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Supporting providers also meant investing in the people doing this important work every day. The Task Force sponsored local training opportunities, supported Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification, and provided training incentives to make professional development more accessible.
Task Force-funded training support has concluded, but providers can continue to find professional development opportunities through local and statewide partners.
PROVIDER APPRECIATION
Provider feedback and local research reinforced the importance of recognizing the people behind Reno County’s child care system. In response, the Task Force created opportunities to celebrate providers, build connections, and increase awareness of the essential role they play in our community.
