DIRECTOR'S ALLIANCE | INFANT-TODDLER SPECIALIST NETWORK

The Director’s Alliance, offered through the KCCTO Infant-Toddler Specialist Network, provides center directors with opportunities to connect, learn, and grow alongside peers from across Kansas. This free professional development series offers specialist-led trainings every other month on topics relevant to child care center leadership, along with optional Zoom Cafés where directors can ask questions, share resources, and build supportive professional connections. Participants can earn KDHE training hours while strengthening their leadership skills and expanding their statewide network.

LINKS TO QUALITY

The new Kansas Quality Recognition and Improvement System (QRIS), Links to Quality (L2Q), is now available to all licensed child care providers in Kansas. L2Q is a voluntary program designed to help early childhood care and education programs strengthen both business practices and program quality. It recognizes providers that are committed to continuous improvement and to enhancing the quality of care across Kansas. Through L2Q, participating programs have access to support services such as coaching, 1:1 mentoring, technical assistance, assessment, and review to help them meet quality indicators and continue growing over time.​

KANSAS CHILDREN'S CABINET & TRUST FUND

The Kansas Children’s Cabinet and Trust Fund works to improve the health, well-being, and early learning outcomes of children and families across the state. The Cabinet oversees key funding initiatives and collaborates with state agencies and community partners to strengthen Kansas’ early childhood system.

ALL IN FOR KANSAS KIDS

All In For Kansas Kids is a statewide initiative focused on strengthening the early childhood system for young children and families. The initiative connects partners across Kansas to improve access to high-quality early learning, support the early childhood workforce, and ensure children enter school ready to succeed.

MEASLES & IMMUNIZATION RESOURCES

As a childcare provider, you play a vital role in keeping children healthy and protected from preventable diseases like measles. To support you, the Reno County Health Department offers convenient access to MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccines at multiple locations throughout the county.

KCCTO INFANT-TODDLER SPECIALIST NETWORK (ITSN)

The KCCTO ITSN team is made up of Infant-Toddler Professional Development Specialists with diverse education and experience backgrounds, offering tailored support to childcare providers.

THE CHILD CARE FOOD PROGRAM

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal program that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children who are enrolled for care at participating child care centers and day care homes.

HELPING FAMILIES ACCESS TUITION ASSISTANCE

Many families in Reno County qualify for help paying for child care—and as a provider, your partnership is key in making those resources accessible.

​

The two most common tuition assistance programs available to families are:

DCF Child Care Assistance
Offered through the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF), this income-based program helps cover the cost of care for qualifying families. Parents can apply online or visit their local DCF office.

To accept DCF assistance, you must be set up as a provider with the agency.

Child Care Links Scholarships
Child Care Links is a local organization offering tuition scholarships to families who meet certain eligibility criteria. Beth Carlton leads this program and is a great resource for both providers and families navigating the process.

To participate, you’ll need to be enrolled as a provider through Child Care Links.

NEW PROVIDER RESOURCES

CHILD CARE LICENSING

Reno County Child Care Licensing
Reno County offers support to providers with education, resources, code compliance, and regulation navigation. In collaboration with partners and local stakeholders, they work to expand childcare facilities and improve the quality of care in our communities.

Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Licensing
Governor Laura Kelly announced that the State of Kansas will cover the state licensing, background check, and fingerprinting fees for child care providers seeking initial licensure or renewal through 2025, or until funds are exhausted. 

CHILD CARE PROVIDER ORIENTATION

Reno County hosts a Childcare Provider Orientation Class on the first Tuesday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon at the Reno County Health Department.
