Britnea Weaver, a Nickerson home daycare provider, has been named the Provider of the Month for August by the Reno County Child Care Task Force.
Britnea's journey in childcare began right after she graduated high school, in a variety of settings. Over the past nine and a half years, Britnea has gained extensive experience working with children, spending five of those years in healthcare and pediatrics. For the last two years, she has been running her own home daycare, where she has made a significant impact on the lives of the children in her care.
"I was actually pretty shocked when I found out that I was nominated for Provider of the Month,” said Britnea. “It's definitely rewarding. It lets me know that I'm doing a good job because a lot of people, they struggle with finding childcare because it's sometimes scary now.”
She finds the recognition incredibly rewarding as it reaffirms her dedication to her work. In today's world, where finding reliable childcare is difficult for many parents, Britnea's commitment to creating a safe and loving environment is invaluable. One of Britnea's primary goals has always been to establish a good reputation and ensure that parents feel confident in the safety and well-being of their children. Her love for her job is obvious.
"I think it's just very rewarding, not necessarily just because I can stay home, but it just fulfills a little portion in my heart, just makes me happy.”
The bond she forms with the children is evident, as they love spending time with her and often express their desire to be with her even outside of daycare hours.
"I really love seeing the kids when we are out in public with my family because they're so used to seeing me here every day. And then when they see me out in public, they're like, wait, ‘what's going on?’ I do have kids that will come up to me and they don't want to leave. They want to come home with me.”
Britnea's success and the quality of care she provides have been significantly supported by the Reno County Childcare Task Force.
“That has helped tremendously with buying things, toys, outdoor equipment, even just paying an electric bill, you know, because my bills have increased because I'm home 24/7 now. It's allowed me to take my kids on field trips and just allowed me to offer more things than just what I already had with my own kids.”
Britnea Weaver's dedication and passion for childcare have not only made her a beloved figure among the children and parents she serves but also earned her well-deserved recognition from the Reno County Child Care Task Force. Her story is an inspiring example of how one person's commitment to their community can make a profound difference in the lives of many.
“And I love to play with the kids, and they love me. I'm making an impact on their lives up until they're adults.”
